The Coppedè District is one of the most fascinating and unusual areas of Rome, a true architectural gem located between Piazza Buenos Aires and Via Tagliamento, in the Trieste district. Designed by architect Gino Coppedè between 1915 and 1927, this small urban complex is an extraordinary mix of styles, ranging from Art Nouveau to Baroque, from Gothic to Neoclassical, with medieval and Art Deco influences.
The heart of the district is Piazza Mincio, dominated by the evocative Fountain of the Frogs, also famous for hosting an impromptu bath by the Beatles after a concert in Rome. Around the square stand unique buildings such as Villino delle Fate, decorated with frescoes and mosaics that evoke a fairytale atmosphere, and Palazzo del Ragno, characterized by an imposing bas-relief depicting a spider on the facade.
Strolling around the Coppedè District is a timeless experience, amidst monumental arches, eccentric decorative details, and an almost surreal aura that makes it one of the most scenic and photographed places in Rome. Perfect for those who want to discover a secret and magical corner of the capital!
