What to visit
The attention to the conservation and enhancement of the artistic-cultural heritage of the Castle, from Prince Baldassarre Odescalchi onwards, has over the years restored beauty to the mighty stones, splendor to the ancient rooms, peace and elegance to the sumptuous gardens. The Castle is open every day of the year with continuous hours, is an ideal place for school trips in the vicinity of Rome, and offers countless possibilities for individual and guided museum visits to choose the one that suits you best.
Halls of the Noble Floor

Approximately 20 rooms on two floors represent one of the finest examples of a Renaissance noble apartment. The succession of chambers, antechambers, studies, and halls are decorated with frescoes and original furnishings. A journey that will take visitors through the lives of the characters who shaped the history of the Renaissance and the modern age. In particular, the deeds of the condottiere Gentil Virginio Orsini should be remembered, who formed a veritable state identifying Bracciano as the capital, the first Duke of Bracciano Paolo Giordano who married Isabella de Medici, Livio Odescalchi who acquired the Castle from the Orsini, and Baldassarre Odescalchi who restored the Castle at the dawn of the 1900s. Surprisingly, in the Castello di Bracciano, a significant female clientele is noted, particularly for the presence of Felice della Rovere, daughter of Pope Julius II, at the beginning of the 16th century.
Paintings and Furnishings
The Castle's art gallery offers visitors a selection of paintings from the early Renaissance.
The furnishings testify to a particular interest in Quattrocento and Cinquecento furniture, such as carved wooden wedding chests or those decorated with pastiglia, and the collection of ceramics.
The very rich collection of weapons is noted as one of the most prestigious Italian collections from the 14th to the 17th century.
Castle exteriors
The outer courts and the grand Court of Honor with its arcades, walkways, and gardens complete the visit with the grandeur of one of the most powerful Renaissance castles in Europe.
