Museum of Rural Life
Erogato Da Across Tuscany
- ~3h
This original exhibition stems from Alessandro Pelucchini's interest in an old family tractor, a Landini 25 "hot head" model, and the passion passed down to him by his father Gino. He began collecting tractors in 1992, with the help and support of his family.
Over time, he gradually expanded the collection, enriching it with tools and objects that would otherwise have been lost or destroyed over time, preventing the destruction of these historical testimonies.
Inside the 1,500 m² pavilion, a traditional farm has been reconstructed, characterized by the typical kitchen, bedroom, and cellar; the stable with large white Chianina cattle; the barn; the pigsty with Cinta Senese pigs (at the time when the scenes are set, the pigs we know today had not yet arrived); and the tool shed.
The visit continues in the farmyard, where, among other things, one of the most important pieces of the collection is found: the Motomeccanica Balilla, a small tractor from 1929.
The exhibition continues in the second section, a large space dedicated to the collection of vintage tractors, threshing machines, and many other agricultural tools.
